Dennis & Casey

Okay so this weeks Duffs Designs graduate is a little special to me because he was actually the first horse i rode when i began my search for my forever friend not only that but he was the first ever to teach me how to play soccer on a horse! Dennis and Casey are a beautiful match and i have been lucky enough to see them in action out on the trails (where Casey and Dennis wiped out for the first time) and in the dressage arena zigzagging down centre line..

How did you get into riding?

Casey shares with us that she got into riding after growing up around her pop who not only was Casey’s hero but also a jockey and trained trotters. So you could say Casey was around horses from day dot..

What do you love about Dennis?

Casey describes how much she loves that Dennis and her self are as moody as each other, even when they are at their worst they can always understand each other. Casey is also blessed with a beautiful son Huddy and she loves how much Dennis loves Huddy too.

I personally haven’t met him but seeing the beautiful pictures of Dennis and him melt my heart!!

What type of riding do you do?

Before Dennis Casey rode around on the roads and trails but since having Dennis trot on into her life Dennis and herself have been dipping their hooves into the show ring which Casey says is loads of fun.

What’s one of your biggest achievements together so far?

Casey shares that their biggest achievement together was placing third in their very first show. But that everything they do together is an achievement, they are constantly learning and growing as a duo and she is so proud of him.

What has owning a standardbred taught you?

Dennis is my second standardbred and a half brother to Indy my other boy. Having him as definitely taught me that it’s not all about the love they give you, but how much heart they give you every time you ask something new of them. Indy is so quiet and un educated and a good plodder out and about, so Dennis has definitely opened my eyes to the standy’s potential! Look out next show season…
